Someone who was always fascinated with numbers since her school time, and coincidentally ended up  with a career in the Finance field. That someone is Ms. Rimmi Jain. Currently at Mirae Asset Investment Managers India Pvt Ltd, she works in the Compliance and Legal team as the Compliance Officer, and is responsible for all the Mutual Fund Compliances.

Shares Rimmi, “I started my career with ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund and thereafter joined DSP Mutual Fund. I have been in the Compliance profile throughout the Mutual Fund journey of 13 years and consider myself lucky to be part of such esteemed organizations. It has been a very enriching and learning experience to be part of this growing Industry.”

Challenges at work, challenges on the home front

Rimmi strongly believes that every day is a new challenge and all you need to do is to wake up, buckle up, and get ready to ride through the day. She adds, “There will always be challenges, be it at the workplace or on the personal front. However, these challenges and the way you handle them develop you as a person.”

There will always be challenges, be it at the workplace or on the personal front. However, these challenges and the way you handle them develop you as a person.

She admits that there have been times when she found it extremely difficult to manage her personal life and professional life, especially when her daughter was born.

Recalls Rimmi, “It took a lot of courage for me to leave her and go to work when she was just six months old. However, my in laws, parents, and my spouse encouraged me to continue. It is due to their support that I have been able to continue with my professional journey.”

On milestones, achievements, and inspiring influences

Rimmi feels there’s a lot more to achieve for her professionally and hence does not want to limit herself by naming any accomplishment as a milestone.

“However, there have been some beautiful experiences along the way. I was very young when I joined this Industry, had just stepped out of college. However now when I look back, I have transformed into a very different person,” she adds. The Mirae Compliance Officer now feels more confident and capable of herself.

Being in the same industry, he understands the challenges you face everyday in this ever evolving industry.

Coming to inspirational people in my life, she recalls, “my first boss in this industry has been the role model in my career. The way she balanced her work life and personal life is something I would want to achieve someday.” Further, her guidance and motivation has inspired Rimmi to go beyond her limits.

Rimmi truly believes one cannot achieve something without a proper backbone in the family. Personally, she feels blessed to have a very supportive family and supportive in-laws, especially her spouse. “Being in the same industry, he understands the challenges you face everyday in this ever evolving industry,” she shares with pride.

Rimmi’s words of support for HerMoneyTalks and its work

In Rimmi’s opinion, women need to break the biased way they are perceived in when it comes to financial independence. Women may have started earning now, however most of them are still dependent on their spouse or parents when it comes to investing, she feels.

There is tremendous opportunity in this field (of Finance). I firmly believe there is a place for everyone who is committed to work.

“HerMoneyTalks stands for financial empowerment of women, and we need such platforms, which can engage with women and guide them through their investment journey. It is rightly said that Empowering women is a key to building the future,” states Rimmi pleasantly.

She signs off with a word of advice to young, aspiring women: “There is tremendous opportunity in this field (of Finance). I firmly believe there is a place for everyone who is committed to work. Just love and cherish what are you doing.”
