The Governor Baby Rani Maurya stressed on the need to connect women and youth with tourism schemes. She said that since women play a vital role in the mountainous regions it would be prudent to ensure that they are benefited from the government schemes. She made these observations during her visit to Almora on Saturday.
The Governor said that special efforts to provide basic facilities to the remote villages should be made to stop migration. She also took stock of various development schemes rolled out by the government from the district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria. She said that special emphasis should be laid on women empowerment so that they are made self- reliant.
Baby Rani Maurya also expressed concern over the growing tendency of substance abuse among the youth of the state and said that the parents should make special efforts to prevent their children from falling prey to drugs.
